Kate Hill

Forest Fire Management practitioner with 25 years' experience

About

I have worked in the field of forestry for 25 years in both public and private sectors.

I am accredited in Fundamentals of Emergency Management (AIIMS), in a wildfire response capacity.

I have extensive experience in management of small to medium capital works projects and coordinating district and regional fire and flood recovery programs.

I have many years' experience managing and supervising forest contractors, and this includes safety auditing and reporting, running tender briefings and toolbox meetings, and maintaining safe, efficient and collaborative worksites in the bush.

In recent years I have specialised in community and stakeholder engagement in forest management issues and government policies.

I wish to step away from what has been a politically charged field of endeavour and experience a new work mode that can utilise my years of experience and exposure to working in supportive and safety-focused teams.

I have always enjoyed operating machinery (forestry) and I am energised on the "can-do" approach of many machine operators.

I am calm, responsible and practical, and I am keen to experience and invest in the culture and discipline that a career in mining requires.
